The Clients module is the customer-facing portal. While Companies stores everyone you sell to, Clients is specifically the subset that has access to a self-serve portal — your active customers.
What clients see
- Their open and historical projects with milestones and status
- Their invoices, paid and outstanding, with one-click "Pay now"
- Their contracts, both signed and pending signature
- Their files shared with them (proposals, deliverables, reports)
- A messages tab to write directly to your team
Enable the portal
- Open the company record → "Client portal" tab.
- Click "Enable portal".
- Pick which contacts have access (typically the primary contact + a few key stakeholders).
- Each invitee receives a magic-link email to set up their portal password.
Branding
The portal inherits your brand: logo, primary color, footer text. For tenants on higher tiers, the portal can run on your custom subdomain (clients.yourdomain.com) — set up in Master Billing → Brand kit.
Tips
- Don't give portal access to everyone at the company — pick decision-makers and stakeholders. Too many users dilute notifications.
- The portal is a sales tool: clients who use it churn 40% less than clients who only interact via email.
