Signer says the link doesn't work? Walk through these checks.
Check 1: link expired
Magic signing links expire after 30 days by default. From the contract page, click "Resend to signer" — a fresh link is generated and the previous one invalidated.
Check 2: signer email typo
If you sent to john@acme.com but the contract owner uses john.smith@acme.com, the link verifies email and rejects. Edit the signer's email under "Signers" → save → resend.
Check 3: corporate email security
Some enterprise email systems strip the magic link from outgoing emails as a security measure. Workaround: tell the signer to look in their Promotions/Junk folder, or send the signing URL directly through a different channel (Slack, WhatsApp).
Check 4: name mismatch
If the signer's typed name in the signature box doesn't match the name on record, OMB Cloud captures the mismatch in the audit trail but does NOT block the signature. This is a defensibility choice — courts care about intent, not spelling. If you want hard-blocking, enable "Strict name match" in template settings.
If all else fails
Void the contract and resend a fresh copy. Voiding preserves the audit trail of the failed attempt while letting you re-issue cleanly.
