"You scored 62/100" is data. "You scored 62/100, your industry median is 71" is a story. Stories convert.

How benchmarks work here

After 50+ responses, the diagnostic auto-computes benchmarks across all respondents, segmented by the dimensions you mark "segmenter" (industry, company size, region). The result page shows each user their peer cohort.

Anonymization

Benchmarks aggregate; no individual responses leak. Below 20 respondents per segment, the system suppresses the benchmark — too small to be statistically useful, too small to be anonymous.

Use benchmarks in sales

The benchmark is a brilliant call opener. "Your scores put you in the bottom quartile on lead routing — most of your peers are 2x better here. Walk me through what's happening."
