Troubleshooting: numbers don't match Google Analytics

They never will — and that's usually fine. Here's why and what to trust.

If our analytics show 1,000 visitors and GA shows 1,180, that's normal. Common causes:

  • Bot filtering differs. We filter aggressively (no user-agent variation, no JavaScript, etc.). GA filters less by default.
  • Session windows differ. GA times out at 30 min idle; some platforms at 24h. Same visitor, different "session" counts.
  • Ad-blockers. GA gets blocked more than first-party platform analytics. We see what GA misses.
  • Sampling. GA samples large datasets; we don't. You'll see precision differences on long date ranges.

Which to trust

For your funnel and revenue questions, trust this dashboard — it's connected to the CRM that holds the actual deal data. For traffic-source comparisons across the wider web, GA is fine. Use both for what each does best.
