Projects bridges the gap between "deal closed" and "invoice paid". It manages the delivery work — tasks, milestones, time, files — for every client engagement.
Three core concepts
- Project: a piece of delivery work, attached to one client. Has a status, an owner, a budget and a timeline.
- Milestone: a checkpoint inside the project. Used for client-facing progress reports and partial invoicing.
- Task: a unit of work assigned to a team member with a due date and effort estimate.
Create your first project
- From the CRM, open the closed-won lead (or the client record).
- Click "Create project" — pre-filled with the contract terms and signed deliverables.
- Add milestones (e.g. "Kickoff", "Discovery delivered", "Implementation phase 1").
- Break each milestone into tasks. Assign owners.
Client portal
Every project ships with a portal URL the client can use to see milestones, request changes, sign off on deliverables and download files. The portal is read-only by default; toggle "Allow comments" if you want client input.
Tips
- Pre-build playbook templates for recurring project types (audit, implementation, retainer) so new projects start from a known structure.
- Link each task to the contract clause it fulfills — useful for change-request conversations.
