The accepted-quote → contract handoff is one of the most rewarding automations in B2B. Configure it once, save hours per deal.
The flow
- Prospect accepts a quote via the public URL.
- OMB Cloud changes the lead stage to "Won" and triggers the contract-generation rule.
- The rule selects a Contracts template based on quote type (e.g. "Master services agreement" template for service quotes, "SaaS license" template for subscription quotes).
- The contract is pre-filled with: the accepting party's info, the quote line items (now as scope), the agreed price, the start date, the term.
- The contract enters draft state. Either auto-send for signature or queue for legal review (configurable).
Configuration
Set up in /app/automations → "Quote accepted" trigger → "Create contract" action. Map the quote fields to contract variables.
Legal review gate
For higher-value quotes (e.g. >$50K), insert a gate: contract waits in "Legal review" status until a designated approver clicks "Approve to send." Below threshold, send directly.
Tips
- Keep two or three contract templates per business line. More than that and the automation has to guess wrong.
- For multi-entity tenants (multiple LLCs/SAs), ensure the trigger picks the right entity's template based on the issuing billing entity.
- Audit the first 10 auto-generated contracts manually before turning off legal review. After tuning, the automation reaches 99% accuracy.
