Getting started with Companies

A central database of every organization you sell to, with tax IDs, industry, multi-fiscal-entity support and the contacts who work there.

Companies is the directory of every organization in your operation — clients, prospects, vendors, partners. Every contact, lead, invoice, contract and project lives under exactly one company.

Core fields

  • Legal name and trade name (commercial)
  • Tax ID per country (RFC for MX, NIF for ES, EIN for US, CNPJ for BR, SIRET for FR)
  • Industry, size, founding year, country, region
  • Website, LinkedIn URL, social handles
  • Multiple billing entities if the same group operates several legal entities

Add your first company

  1. Go to /app/companies → "New company".
  2. Type the legal name. As you type, OMB Cloud searches for duplicates against your existing database and (where supported) public tax-authority databases.
  3. Confirm — fill the tax ID, industry, country.
  4. Add contacts (the people who work there) inline or from the Contacts module.

Deduplication

OMB Cloud auto-flags potential duplicates by tax ID, then by website domain, then by name similarity. You can merge two companies from either record's actions menu — all related contacts, leads, invoices and projects are reassigned to the surviving company.

Tips

  • Use the trade name (commercial) for client-facing copy; legal name only on contracts and invoices.
  • Always capture industry — it powers segmentation in CRM, dashboards and AI agent personalization.
